news

So you want to journal but the blank page is daunting. Not sure where to start? I got you covered with these tips to make your journaling adventures fun & relaxing!

Why We Journal

Journaling allows you an opportunity to fully connect with yourself explore your thoughts & emotions. Self reflection can be a way to relax and de-stress. It can help grow self confidence, improve your mood and problem solving skills. It's a great form of self discovery and self care.

Ways to Use a Journal

Those blank pages can be a little intimidating when you're uncertain of what to write so here are some ideas to get you going:

• Write an account of your day
Remember the 5 W's  ( Who, What, When , Why, Where & How )
• Make lists
Lists are a simple way to process here are some ideas
10 things grateful for today • goals • dreams • action plan the to-do's
• Ask Yourself Thoughtful Questions
What did I do today that I'm proud of? What am I looking forward to? How can I help others with immediate needs?
• Self Reflections
Allow yourself to process your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, actions and be honest with yourself.
• Spiritual / Prayer Journal
Record who & what you are praying for, praise reports, answered prayers and how God is working in your life, what He is teaching you, How has He shown you love, grace, mercy

When & Where to Journal

The hardest part of the journey is making time, with the never-ending to do lists and demands of life fighting for our time it's hard to carve out time for yourself, but it's a necessity, and you are worth it.

Make your journaling time a pleasant experience. Set yourself up in a comfortable spot without distractions. Make a lovely cuppa tea (or your fave beverage) to sip while writing. You choose the amount of time that works best for you, whether you set a goal for:

  • 15 minutes a day
  • once a week
  • throughout the day
  • first thing in the morning
  • before bed
  • in between laundry loads

Find the what works best for you & stick with it.

Paper vs. Digital Journal

While digital seems like an easy format, there's something powerful that transpires when you put pen to paper in the tangible form. We get to slow down, fully engage, feel and think about what we are writing. Besides, wouldn't you agree we have just a little too much screen time these days?!

Myself, as a lover of paper I'm a little biased. That's why I've created an exclusive line the 'Joyful Journals'. This collection of beauties are large journals with a gorgeous full colour cover featuring one of my original photographs to keep you inspired and delighted as you fill the creamy white premium pages with your heart & soul!
