Such beauty, commands attention  

Fascinated by this gorgeous yellow and pink hibiscus, I decided this was definitely going to be one I would study through my lens. The texture of the vibrant yellow petals was alluring. As I explored the hibiscus further, I noticed the bright pink inner base of the petals and it was a beautiful gradation of pinks and mauves. As I lowered my view to come eye level to the petal my imagination placed me in the most beautiful Hawaiian sunrise, even though I had never seen one in person before. That was what I had to capture with this gorgeous flower. Focusing on the edge of the petal, I was able to create a strong yellow line representing the horizon and using a shallow depth of field I blurred the vibrant hues of pinks and reds to create the "sunrise"
